Kinpiragobou (Braised burdock and carrots) 2 servings


Burdock 1

Carrot 1/3

Cooking sake 1/2 Tablespoon

Sugar 1 Tablespoon

Soy sauce 1 Tablespoon

Red hot pepper shavings


1. Wash the burdock thoroughly. Shave burdock in long, thin strips and soak in water for 10 minutes. Peel carrot and cut in the same way.

2. Warm sesame oil on high; add the drained burdock (no water). Once the burdock is tender, add carrot, and continue to stir-fry.

3. Add all seasonings and continue to stir-fry until the liquid ingredients have been absorbed. Serve on a dish.
