You might be familiar with Yamaguchi Park in Spain from a past issue of ACCESS, but have you heard of Yamaguchi Garden in Shandong Province of China? Yamaguchi City presented this 1,950 square meter garden at the exposition in Jinan, which is Yamaguchi City’s friendship city. This garden is based off of Sesshu, a famous artist who spent time in Yamaguchi during the Middle Ages.
In Yamaguchi City’s Meiji Restoration Park, there is a statue of Confucius and his pupils. This was sent from Shandong Prefecture in 2007 as a 25th friendship city anniversary gift.
We look forward to more ties and exchange with Shandong Province in the future.
