The National Tree-Planting Ceremony of 2012
The National Tree-Planting Ceremony, or Shokujyusai, will be held this year in Yamaguchi! The National Tree-Planting Ceremony, held every year in a different prefecture, is an event to promote a better understanding of forest development. It has been 56 years since it was last held in Yamaguchi and only the 2nd time its been held in the prefecture.
Various events will be held from May 24th to the 27th at Kirarahama, Ajisu in Yamaguchi City. You can plant a tree as well and help build a forest in Kirarahama with other participants. There will be events for children as well, such as a jungle gym made out of logs and a mini-SL train.
