Nippon Maru” and “Pacific Venus” both stop at the Port of Shimonoseki on the same day!
On August 13, 2017, “Nippon Maru” and “Pacific Venus” stopped at the Port of Shimonoseki. On this day, the “Kanmon Kaikyo Fireworks Festival” which colored the Kanmon Strait with around 15,000 fireworks was held, and passengers enjoyed looking at the beautiful fireworks from Shimonoseki on one side and Moji on the other.
In conjunction with the port of call, at the wharf and within the ship, there were welcome events held over the span of their stay including a welcome ceremony, tourist information guides, booths selling local specialties set up, traditional art performances (Heike dance and Heike Japanese drumming), and a performance by the Yamaguchi Kiheitai Extraordinary Corps and Choruru, the head honcho and mascot promoting Yamaguchi Prefecture.
