The Silver Discoverer Visits Hagi!
The American cruise ship, the Silver Discoverer, visited the Port of Hagi on Friday, March 30, 2018. This marks its second visit to the port.
Around 110 passengers from countries such as the U.S., Swiss, and Australia visited the prefecture. At the port, the city government workers presented each passenger an origami of a carp streamer. At the stage near the port, a welcome ceremony was held where a local high school student gave a welcoming speech in English and Yonehara Shachu performed Otokonara, a local folk song.
After the welcome ceremony, passengers loaded onto a bus and toured the city. They enjoyed the Hagi Castle Ruins, World Heritage Sites, Hagi Castle Town and more sights in Hagi surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom.
